Children's Director
Lindsay Marks
Lindsay’s position leading the littles began in 2024 when she became Children’s Director for the GLOW Kids program at Elk City UMC after years volunteering in the children’s ministry. In her role, she teaches children about God and guides them to become disciples of Christ. She enjoys seeing the kids, week after week and year after year, growing in their knowledge and love for Christ. “It’s amazing to watch their little brains absorb what we teach them like little sponges,” she said. “The pride that children have when they joyfully retell a Bible story that they have learned is such an incredible thing to witness. My favorite thing is when our children invite and bring a friend to church with them.” Lindsay believes in kindness and empathy, as we never know what someone is dealing with. Just to extend a helping hand or simply try to understand what someone else's life might be like would change the world. When she’s not working, she is most likely spending time with her husband and 3 busy kids. She enjoys chasing them all over the state watching them play basketball, softball, baseball and soccer. When she gets a small break from sports, you can her at a good concert or anywhere out in the sunshine, preferably the beach! Lindsay’s favorite volunteer role is with CASA. “CASA does so much for children in foster care to help support each child's healing and growth,” she said. “Working with vulnerable children and being able to be their voice in court is such an important thing. It’s an incredible gift to be loved by these children while fighting for them to have the things they need and deserve.” Lindsay’s favorite Scripture is Colossians 3:23-24, Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Her biggest hope in this world is for every child to be safe, to feel loved and to know that there is a big God who loves them endlessly.
